Working in a library, there is always another book on my shelf waiting to be read, but what happens when I finish that last book? Well here are some websites that guarantee to find that perfect next book for you to lose yourself in. Some of these sites do an adequate job, some are dismal and some are just plain hilarious! Have fun!
Whichbook - Find your next book by your mood! This site gives you a variety of moods from happy to sad, optimistic to bleak, no sex to lots o' sex... you get the point!
All Readers - I have to say one of the better free online databases out there. You can search by author, title or plot keywords. If you look up a particular book you'll get a great summary with plot, main characters (basically a cliff notes version of the book) and at the end, read-a-likes. It also doesn't require registration, unlike most other sites on this list.
Bookseer - Though this site is just a mash-up of book suggestions from LibraryThing, BookArmy and Amazon, I have to say that it is so charming that I instantly liked it. And the format is much less annoying than either of the parent sites, so give it a try!
Suggestica - A non-fiction book recommendation site, from experts in the field.
Good Reads- If you aren't antisocial like me, Good Reads may be a good fit for you. Form online book groups, start conversations, and get recommendations from friends. It's like LibraryThing for people who really want to socialize about their reading experience.
